Lynne Mackey combines masterful technique with extraordinary expressiveness to bring a wide range of classical music to audiences. Most recently, she performed in Paris as artist-in-residence for 4 months at the Cité Internationale des Arts. She holds performance degrees from the Eastman School of Music (DMA), The Juilliard School (MM) and the University of Michigan (BM). Highlights of her career include performances at Weill Recital Hall in New York City, the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada, and overseas in Brazil, Spain, Morocco and the Netherlands. Lynne is also a skilled interpreter of contemporary music and has worked with many composers. Her performances of new works for piano include three New York premiers. In addition to performing, Lynne is Director of the Virginia Baroque Performance Academy, which is part of the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival.
Lynne Mackey’s imaginative programming will enliven audiences with a variety of solo repertoire; ranging from the lyrical beauty of Chopin to the experimental wizardry of John Cage and beyond. Concert options include:
