Since 1988, the American Shakespeare Center has brought Shakespeare to communities in Virginia, the United States, and the world.  By embracing Shakespeare's Staging Conditions and including the audience in the world of the plays, ASC performances create a dynamic and engaging entertainment event.  The ASC on Tour combines vibrant performances with a variety of hands-on workshops to deliver a complete theatrical and educational experience.

Productions include A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Imogen (formerly Cymbeline), and The Grapes of Wrath, performed in true rotating repertory by one troupe of 11 professional classical actors. As they do on the stage of the ASC’s celebrated Blackfriars Playhouse, the actors use the magic of theatre and language in Shakespeare’s thrilling Theatre of the Imagination.
