Important Notice
Due to security concerns in the Capitol Square area, Governor Street is closed to public traffic.
Public access to the office of the Virginia Commission for the Arts office is limited. Please call the Commission (804.225.3132) if you plan to deliver an application or other materials in person.
Directions:
The Virginia Commission for the Arts office is located in downtown Richmond, east of Capitol Square and the Governor's Mansion and two blocks south of the MCV Hospitals complex.
Interstates 95 and 64 merge and run directly through Richmond near the Commission office. The easiest way to reach the Commission from the two interstates is to exit at Broad Street west from I-95/I-64.
1) Traveling south on I-95, take exit 74C (Broad Street west).
2) Traveling north on I-95, take exit 74C (Broad Street west).
3) Traveling east on I-64, merge into I-95 south; continue on I-95 south past exit 75 (where I-64 east separates again) to exit 74C (Broad Street west).
4) Traveling west on I-64 into Richmond, take the left exit 190 to I-95 south to Petersburg, immediately take exit 74C (Broad Street west).
Driving west on Broad Street, the street on the left at the second traffic light is Governor Street (12th Street). Governor Street is now a one-way street, so you must make a u-turn at that light and take your first right into the alley way behind the offices. Parking is not availble behind the Commission office. Please call the Commission office for exact instructions.
