TECHNICAL

Stage or classroom with danceable floors. Sound system with CD playback capability and handheld microphone (BMD can provide boombox), general stage illumination, private room for costumes and makeup with access to bathrooms.

For 16 years BMD has energized broadly diverse audiences with inventive and vibrant choreography – a fusion of contemporary and classical techniques set to a sweeping range of musical styles. BMD has performed at The Kennedy Center and Jacobs Pillow and tours extensively throughout the Metro DC region. The Washington Post called BMD "Metro DC's premier contemporary dance company." Washingtonian named McCauley as among the "top men and women who have helped transform Washington into one of the nation's liveliest centers for the performing arts."

EDUCATION

Lucy was honored last year by Dance Metro DC with the prestigious Outstanding Achievement in Dance Education Award.

Mini Performances (45-60 minutes, appropriate for all ages)
Workshop/Master Class (1-3 hours, appropriate for all ages)
Residencies (Multi-day, one week or multi-session

WORKSHOPS

led by company members, guide participants in age-appropriate warm-up exercises and dance movement including excerpts from BMD repertoire.

RESIDENCIES

feature customized professional dance instruction culminating in student performances. Arts-integrated, educational residencies are available: ex. Once Upon A Dance/Creative Writing; The Constitution Rocks! /American History.
