TECHNICAL
Professional sound system and sound engineer; minimum 12'x16' elevated wood stage. Workshops and intimate venues can be acoustic, and need only space and seating.

Primary audience (concert & workshops); All ages, 12 and older recommended. School program: Grades 1-12, also appropriate for college level.
ABOUT
IONA, an award winning, traditional pan Celtic band founded in 1986, represents the music of parent cultures (Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Cornish, Manx, Brenton, Galician, Asturian) and their evolution in America (Appalachian, Cajun, Cape Brenton, Quebecois). The band weaves Celtic knots with songs in their original languages, traditional instrumentation, percussion, including footwork, and anecdotes.
CONCERTS
IONA conducts a knowledgeable tour of the Celtic lands. Exponents of fiddle, Irish flute, whistles, guitar, bouzouki, bodhran, doumbek, bass guitar, and foot work, as well as song and language, IONA entertains with instructive humor.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
IONA explains the culture, music, and dance of Celts worldwide; paths of immigration, linguistic relationships, design and musical traditions. Band members demonstrate their instruments, types of music, and dance. Students join dances, choruses, rhythms.
WORKSHOPS
Band members lead workshops in: musical techniques of their various instruments; singing styles; dance steps; and overview.
