Founded in 1996, Virginia Handbell Consort is an advanced handbell ensemble composed of highly experienced, auditioned musicians from across the Hampton Roads region. Performing on an ever-growing collection of handbells, handchimes, and an assortment of percussion instruments, VHC demonstrates the capabilities and musicality of handbells well beyond a typical church music experience.

CONCERTS

Concert repertoire includes a variety of musical genres including folk songs, classical, jazz, ragtime, original handbell compositions, and both secular and sacred holiday music in November and December. The engaging concert style is appropriate for audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds. The creativity, musicality, and technical wizardry of a professional handbell ensemble will astound the most sophisticated concertgoers while captivating even the youngest children.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Educational opportunities range from tailored master classes to multi-class workshops designed to help ringers of all abilities. Workshops last from an afternoon to an entire weekend. References available upon request.
