ABOUT

Wayne Henderson is a National Heritage Award recipient honored for his craftsmanship as a luthier and his renowned finger-style Appalachian guitar playing. Sponsored through the National Council for Traditional Arts, the Smithsonian Institute, and Office of Arts America, Wayne has toured broadly in the U.S., Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Helen White is the founder and regional coordinator of the Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) program which introduces Appalachian children to their musical heritage. An award-winning singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer in her own right, Helen has toured extensively with Wayne in the U.S. and Europe. Both are frequent instructors at major traditional music camps across the country.

CONCERTS

consist of two 45-minute sets. Performances feature Wayne's lightning fast "pinch picking" on guitar with Helen's back up guitar, fiddling, and singing. Wayne might even tell a tale or two!
